If you tuned into the blog last Friday for my first prom post of the season you’d know that every Friday for the next two months I’m uploading installments to my long-awaited ‘Prom Season’ series.
Prom is such a special day for teens all over the country and this year I’m hoping to ease your experience by sharing gorgeous options from various designers, telling you which styles to avoid, and aiding in the getting ready process.
For all my local ladies, McKenzie Berk is a prom store that just opened up at the Clarksburg Outlets. They have gowns from three different designers who have been in the industry for many years, a wide variety of sizes, as well as a few mother of the bride options. McKenzie Berk aims to make all girls prom shopping experience feel special— with a boutique feel and personal service you won’t be disappointed.
Today I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite gowns that I tried on while visiting. If you see anything you like feel free to head on in and try on some of their gorgeous gowns! If you’re not a local lady, head over to their website or Instagram to find more designer details.
The sparkles on this dress were unreal! I’m not usually an off the shoulder gal but the cut of this dress was so beautiful, showing off the collar-bone so nicely. However the back of the gown is the true show stopper. I’m such a sucker for a good train and this one certainly didn’t disappoint!
Nothing like a white lace dress to make you feel beautiful. I love a white gown for prom as you can truly do so much with one. It’s fun to play around with a pop of color in the guy’s tie, your flowers, and/or nail color. This one fit beautifully and the neckline was perfect!
I’m not typically a two piece girl but I love this gown. The beaded top gives me such vintage vibes and the pink tulle skirt will totally leave you having your Carrie Bradshaw moment. If you’re looking for something to twirl in, this dress is the one for you. This designer carries so many gorgeous gowns!
This dress steals the show with the strappy back and mesh cutouts that line the sides of the torso. It’s got a nice deep v in the front and the navy lace is oh so elegant. Though a bit out of my comfort zone, this one was definitely one of my favorites.
My favorite dress of the day was by far this beaded grey gown. The bodice has the most intricate detail; it’s truly stunning! I love the simple cross back and the mermaid like fit of this gown. It hugs your figure perfectly but has enough give so you’re still able to walk!
Another favorite of the day was this black sequins dress. The cut of this one was very classic— not too much but certainly not boring. I love the way this one fit and with a good earring + cuff choice I think this dress would look stellar.
I am so grateful for McKenzie Berk’s incredible customer service and gorgeous gowns for making my try-on experience so enjoyable! If you’re looking to find the perfect dress for prom, try heading to the McKenzie Berk store at the Clarksburg Outlets.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Which gown was you favorite? I’d love to hear below along with any other questions, comments, or requests you may have. Hope you’re having an awesome Friday!
With love, McKenz
