If you tuned into the blog lately for my first prom post of the season you’d know that every Friday for the next two months I’m uploading installments to my long-awaited ‘Prom Season’ series.
Prom is such a special day for teens all over the country and this year I’m hoping to ease your experience by sharing gorgeous options from various designers, telling you which styles to avoid, and aiding in the getting ready process.
I know that often times girls skip out on the special day because money is an issue and although fancy gowns are beautiful, you can look good without spending tons of money. Today I’m sharing three gowns under $30 from SheIn. Despite them being a bit more casual than the dresses I ‘ve previously shared, I was pleasantly surprised by their simple, affordable gown selection.
This dress was my favorite of the three from the moment I saw it online. I’m typically not one to gravitate towards blue but I loved the teal shade of this dress. The neckline is gorgeous when paired with a longer pendant like the one I have on here. The criss-cross detailing is a fun, trendy touch and it doesn’t hit at an unflattering spot. The skirt of this is double lined and super flowy, perfect if you’re looking to sway the night away.
With a block heel, this dress was definitely on the shorter side. I’m wearing a size XS and would recommend sizing up if you’re any taller than 5’3″. For under $30 this dress is great. This dress is super similar to Lulu’s quality if you’re looking for an accurate comparison.

I’m not a huge halter lover when it comes to special event dresses but I loved the way this one fit me. The cut of it was super flattering on my petite figure. The color blocking hits at the perfect spot making you look super curvy even if you’re not. This dress was the perfect length on me and had the cutest little train.
Despite how beautiful this dress is, I’m not a huge fan of it being cotton as it instantly makes this dress 10x less fancy. However, if you’re looking for something last minute and super affordable, this would be a good fit. I can totally see this being a good wedding guest dress as well. I wore cute navy tassels and a fun gold cuff with it to simply accessorize.

This dress was again super similar to a Lulu’s dress in both style and quality. The bust of this one is different from your typical gown, with wider ‘cups’ that make it sit just off the shoulder. The pale grey is super pretty and the slit is the perfect height leaving your left leg to display a fun nude heel like the pair I’m wearing.
I added a pair of marble earrings and some simple gold jewelry to accessorize this gown. I think an updo would be super pretty with this dress to showcase the neckline and back detail. Super impressed with this gown! It also comes in blush pink now which I think would be even cuter.

Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of these dresses— especially for the prices! All three of these are under $30 if you use the code ‘Q1styledbymckenz15’ when checking out at SheIn to get an additional 15% off your purchase. While you’re on their site, be sure to browse through some of their other affordable styles!
Which SheIn dress was your favorite? I’d love to hear below along with any other questions you may have on these styles! I hope you enjoyed these simpler styles and remember that you don’t have to spend a ton to look beautiful! Fingers crossed that this helped out all of my ladies looking for more affordable styles. Tune in next Friday to see another designer gown!
With love, McKenz
