I’m sure you already know by now but if this is your first prom post of mine, let’s do a little recap… Prom is such a special day for teens all over the country and this year I’m hoping to ease your experience by sharing gorgeous options from various designers, telling you which styles to avoid, and aiding in the getting ready process.
Today I’m teaming up with Blush Prom to share a stunning gown with you. It’s no secret that I love glitter and if you do too, I have a feeling you’re going to adore this gown!
Blush Prom designs stunning gowns for not only prom and homecoming dances but for pageants as well! They work exceptionally hard to make their dresses as affordable as possible. But before you freak out when looking at the price, keep in mind that these are designer gowns so you truly are getting some bang for your buck! Their retailers work with you to find the best style at the best price.
Blush Prom also focuses on the quality and sizing of your gown which is super underrated. We’ve talked in a previous post about the dangers of counterfeit gowns. No worries here, Blush Prom has strict quality control and insures that your dress is the proper fit, in the exact color, and has the correct trim. They also want to provide options for everyone— offering sizes from 0 to 30. Check out the size charts before trying anything on.
Now that you’ve heard a bit about the brand, let’s take a closer look at the gorgeous gown I have on!
In today’s photos I’m wearing Style 11739 from Blush Prom. This gown is a metallic shimmer mermaid dress with a modest neckline and sweeping train. It comes in four colors, I’m currently wearing the Copper Shimmer and it is gorgeous. In fact the color is what immediately drew me to this dress. It reflects the light beautifully and the two toned glitter shines differently depending on how the light hits it.
I’ll be the first to admit, I was never a huge fan of the mermaid dress trend until I tried a style on in store for my collab with McKenzie Berk and I instantly fell in love. It turns out that the cut is super flattering on my petite figure. You don’t need to be insanely curvy or have a nice butt to pull off the mermaid gown— just a whole lot of confidence!
For those wondering, I was in between sizes a bit for this gown and I ended up getting the 2 rather than the 0. It’ not too big but I definitely could have fit the 0; if you’re in between sizes and looking for something a bit tighter around the bodice, I’d definitely go down a size. At 5’2″ and a block heel, I think this dress hits the floor perfectly. The train of it has a sort of netting that allows the sweeping train to stand up, filling out it’s intended shape. It’s seriously beautiful; you all know I’m a sucker for a good train!
The bust of this dress comes with built-in cupping which is perfect so you don’t have figure out the whole bra situation (one of the most dreaded prom problems…) which I greatly appreciate! I love the neckline of this gown as it’s not too much. If your high school has a dress code this dress is right up your alley. The shimmer makes such a statement but you’re doing so without being too revealing. There is plenty of coverage with the cut of the chest and back and there’s no side slit so you don’t have to worry about exposed legs if that’s something on your ‘no’ list.
I know you cannot see my shoes, but I’m wearing a pretty pair of rose gold heels to finish off the look. To accessorize I kept things simple with my rose gold Kendra Scott and my favorite statement earrings. If I had a rose gold cuff I think it would have been the perfect touch but I’m always hesitant on arm candy when it comes to prom because I think your corsage is the true finishing touch.
because Blush Prom is a designer and not a store, you cannot purchase a gown directly from their website. However, you can click here to locate a store near you that carries any of the dress styles pictured on their site.
I’ve been getting tons of positive feedback on my prom related posts and am so glad you all are enjoying them. Which designer and/or store do you want me to review next? I’d love to hear your suggestions below along with any other questions, comments, or requests you may have. Thanks again to Blush Prom for gifting such a gorgeous gown; I hope you all loved it too!
With love, McKenz
