I’m sure you know by now but if this is your first prom post of mine, let’s do a little recap… Prom is such a special day for teens all over the country and this year I’m hoping to ease your experience by sharing gorgeous options from various designers, telling you which styles to avoid, and aiding in the getting ready process.
For today’s prom post I’m teaming up with ShowPo, one of my favorite Australian retailers, to share two gorgeous options with you. I love ShowPo and have several other pieces from them so when I saw that they have tons of prom dresses under $100, I decided to put them to the test.
Despite having several pieces from them already, I was nervous about trying a prom dress— worried that the quality may be reflected in the affordable price. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this dress. The quality of this dress is amazing. If you’re familiar with Lulus, I’d say this is one step above the dress I have from them. The stitching on this dress was amazing, it had no loose sequins, and the straps are adjustable which is such a nice touch.
ShowPo sizing can be tricky at times because they are Australian based so I made sure to take my measurements and check the size charts twice before ordering. Because this is a mermaid style gown and more fitted towards the butt, I decided to get the size 4. It fit perfectly and hugged my curves in all the right places. At 5’2″ with a two-inch pair of block heels, this dress just hit the ground so it’s on the shorter side compared to other gowns. Be wary of this if you’re on the taller side. There is a slit in the back that makes this dress much easier to walk in.
I do want to point out that this dress is not padded in the bust. I know some people prefer this but I’m not one of those so a sticky bra did just the trick with this dress. The cut of it is so flattering and looked gorgeous with rose gold jewelry to match the rose gold sequins. The dress appears to be more gold online but I found it more rose gold in person.
For $85 this dress truly cannot be beat. It looks like a designer gown and fit incredibly. Not only did I feel gorgeous in this dress but it photographed just as well! This is an amazing option.

For my second dress choice, I chose this blush off the shoulder dress. It comes in two colors and has a muted sparkle to it which I found to be really gorgeous. The sparkles aren’t too overwhelming, giving off a more metallic look.
When trying to figure out the sizing for this dress, I weighed a few factors. This dress was a bit more spandex than the last and I knew that because it wasn’t sequined this one would have a bit more give to it. I decided to go with a size 2 in this dress and it fit me like a glove. This was the perfect size as the bust didn’t slip at all. This dress is double lined but only half way through so you do see the seam of this. Keep that in mind because I do think that makes this dress a bit more casual than your typical prom dress.
This dress was much longer than the last one, with three-inch heels I still had a few inches of this gown on the ground. I personally love a train so I’m not entirely sure if I would hem this but for some, this may be a factor worth considering. I love the way this hits the ground. This also has a dramatic side slit on the left side which makes this much easier to walk in than if without.
I usually don’t reach for fitted gowns but I truly loved the way this one fit me. I paired it with some nude lace up heels and a few gold accessories to complete the look. Not to mention, this dress would look perfect with almost any color tux by your side!

Overall, I am so impressed with these dresses. If you’re looking for something a little more casual or less extravagant than a designer gown, ShowPo is the way to go. You cannot go wrong with a dress under $100 that makes you feel beautiful. Which dress was your favorite? I’d love to hear your favorite below by any other questions you may have about these gowns.
