You know the drill by now but if you’re new to my prom series, allow me to explain… Prom is such a special day for teens all over the country and this year I’m hoping to ease your experience by sharing gorgeous options from various designers, telling you which styles to avoid, and aiding in the getting ready process.
Today I’m partnering with Morilee to share one of their stunning gowns. This designer has tons of beautiful options from two pieces to backless gowns like the one I’m sharing with you today. Before I begin, I do want to mention that this will (most likely) be my last dress post of the 2019 prom season; so take this one in!
Morilee is one of the world’s leading brands of bridal and evening wear. Madeline Gardner, the designer and creative inspiration behind Morilee, aims to turn your dreams into dresses. With a wide variety of bridesmaids, quinceanera, mother of the bride, and prom dresses, you are sure to find the dress you’ve always imagined.
Morilee understands that finding the dress of your dreams takes time. But they assure you that that’s okay. With hundreds of gowns and countless collections, the options are endless. Morilee gowns are sold in hundreds of stores around the United States so finding a place to purchase one won’t be a problem either.
The dress that I’m wearing today is the style 43006. This gown comes in two colors; I’m wearing the ‘Nude/Gold’ here. This gown is so glamorous with all over beaded metallic lace appliqués. It’s got a high neckline and an open keyhole back that allows your entire back to be exposed. The material of this dress makes the train sit beautifully. A few of the other dresses I’ve shared have had super heavy trains but this one is very light and easy to fan out thanks to the tulle layers.
The back of this dress is easily my favorite part about it. There’s nothing I love more than an exposed back. This dress has such a sophisticated feel to the front of it but the back leaves you with a total movie star moment. It hooks at the top in the back making it a super flattering cut.
Wanted to share a few closeups of this detailing on this dress. It’s got true nude fabric with the netting over top as more of a metallic gold. The beads on this dress are absolutely stunning and reflect purplish when caught in the light!
I’ll be totally honest with you all when I say the sizing on this dress was a bit off for me. I’m wearing a size 2 in this gown and definitely should have gone down to a 0. There are built-in cups on this dress and they sit too low on my chest. It turns out my torso just isn’t long enough for this specific high neck gown. I’ve got a lot of room in the mid drift area but the dress did fit beautifully around my butt. Although this dress wasn’t perfect for my body type, it truly was gorgeous on! Make sure to review the size charts before ordering.
Accessorizing a high neck gown always comes a little more naturally as choosing a necklace is no longer necessary. I added my favorite gold statement earrings from Walmart. A simple stud would work too, but I always prefer something a little more bold when going to a dance. Of course, for the actual dance I would be wearing a corsage on one wrist. I kept things simple with a gold stone bracelet from Details on the other wrist.
I’m not a updo person when it comes to hairstyles so to spice up my curls, I added this simple gold hair ring from SheIn. It was under $2 and did just the trick in adding something simple. To finish off my look I’d add a few gold rings if I had them!
And just like that, I’m wrapping up the final dress for prom season! It has been such a fun experience getting to work with so many different designers and retailers— I am truly so grateful for all of them making this season of blogging so special. If you’ve missed any of my prom dress posts, be sure to give them all a look once you’re finished with this one.
I’ll catch you next Friday for a prom makeup tutorial that’s been my go-to when shooting these gowns. In the meantime, let me know which one was your favorite below along with any other questions, comments, or requests you may have for me. Thanks so much for joining me on this journey!
With love, McKenz
