Prom Season With Terani A Stunning Two Piece Gown
You know the drill by now but if you’re new to my prom series, allow me to explain… Prom is such a special day for teens all over the country and this year I’m hoping to ease your experience by sharing gorgeous options from various designers, telling you which styles to avoid, and aiding in the getting ready process.
Today I’m partnering with Terani Couture to share the most beautiful gown with you. I know two piece dresses aren’t for everyone but I’ve yet to share this style with you so I decided to give it a go, and boy am I glad I did! This gown is easily in my top three favorite dresses I’ve shared with you in this series and I think you’re going to love it too.

Elegant Fitted Two Piece Jersey Prom Dress – 1811P5707
Like I said earlier, I really wanted to try out a two piece gown. We saw many designers test out this style for the first time just a few years ago and the trend has quickly become popularized. I personally am such a fan, especially because I am on the petite side so in reality, a very small amount of my mid-drift is actually on display.
This two piece dress is so elegant, coming with a sheer top with embroidery detail and intricate beading. The floor length skirt is a jersey material with a layer of tulle overtop. Embroidery detail and beading lines the waistline to complete the most beautiful dress! This gown comes in one color, Champagne Nude. As gorgeous as it is online, I felt that this dress was ten times prettier in person. The camera just does not do that beading justice when caught in the light!
Truthfully, I was worried about the sizing on this gown as you have to choose one size for both pieces. I went with a size zero and it fits me perfectly. The bust has built-in cups and padding so you don’t have to worry about dealing with the bra situation. This zips up the back and hooks at the top.
The skirt is gorgeous. This is not a fitted style which was a nice change of pace from some of the other gowns I’ve styled. The tulle layer over top of the jersey material is so elegant. Keep in mind that you will want to keep fanning it out though so that the train is perfectly displayed. It was super windy the afternoon I took these so I had some trouble getting it to cooperate the way I had hoped.
At 5’2″ this dress has lots of material on the ground still. Some may want to get it hemmed so they aren’t stepping on it the entire night but there is a train so you have to keep in that mind if that’s your preferred style. I’m wearing two-inch heels underneath the gown to give me a bit of height despite not being able to see them.
Another thing I love about this gown is that I think it would look perfect with any color tux next to you. Navy, grey, or black would all look great and there is lots you can do to coordinate. A metallic tie or a pop of color are both great options.
How I’m Accessorizing
Because this dress is so bold on its own, I really didn’t want to steal too much attention away from the gorgeous top. I decided to keep things pretty simple with my jewelery. A necklace wasn’t needed thanks to the neckline of the gown so I went with a bold earring instead. This pair from Walmart matched perfectly and was a fun statement.
Honestly, I’d keep arm candy with this gown minimal. A gorgeous corsage would do just the trick but for this occasion since I was obviously just shooting, I kept things simple with a stone bracelet from Detail’s Boutique.
