Seriously, how is it already May?! I cannot believe how fast this year is flying and with so much going on this month, I’m feeling extra pumped. I had a fantastic April and I’m so excited to share my favorites with you today. I’ve got quite a bit to talk about so let’s get right on into it.
Feeling extra grateful this month since the weather finally started warming up! I found myself wearing tons of dresses. Once the sun starts coming out, I tend to switch from pants to dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, and rompers. My favorite places to buy them from are Zaful, SheIn, and Showpo. I’ve gotten tons of new ones these last few weeks and am looking forward to sharing them in a few upcoming lookbooks and hauls. I’ve worn yellow for easily half the month. I wear yellow for every baseball game or baseball related event for the most part which has left my wardrobe looking extra cheery lately.
I shared this photo on my Instagram the other day of all my yellow beauties next to one another and got so much love on the post. My platform espadrilles from Target are definitely my most worn of the bunch though. The orange platforms pictured are also from Target and have been another favorite. Not only are they extremely comfortable but they are the perfect height as well!
I’m on an accessories kick as of lately. My ears have been bothering me so much from constantly wearing clip on earrings so I’m looking forward to dressing in workout wear for exams next week so I can give my ears a much needed break. I wore tons of cute pairs this month though. All of them were from Wal-Mart’s $4 Time&Tru line. I picked up this hair scarf from SheIn this month and loved wearing it. It’s been such a fun touch to a casual outfit. My last accessories favorite are my blue light glasses from Discount Glasses. These are the best when staring at a screen for long periods of time and I cannot wait to pick up a new pair!
I’m always on a workout wear kick. I love a good matching set for lounging around or heading to the baseball field. This navy floral one from Target has gotten me allll the compliments. Not only is it super flattering but it’s affordable too. I picked up these light blue Adidas sneakers from TJ Maxx this month and am in love. They were on the pricier side from me but I couldn’t resist them as they were so comfortable and such a gorgeous color.
Feeling like God has been answering my prayers this month. I’m feeling extra grateful and so excited for Katie to be back from college this month so we can start going to Sunday evening mass together again!
Y’all I started and finished Stranger Things this month and I was pleasantly surprised. I usually don’t enjoy watching shoes that are make believe or have science-y aspects to it but I really enjoyed this show and the fact that it was set in the 80s. I can’t wait for season 3 to come out in July!
I’ve been watching The Voice, Riverdale, and Jane The Virgin each week as the episodes air on TV but aside from that I’ll be taking a TV break this month. I definitely won’t have time to binge watch anything this month due to my crazy schedule but that’s alright; Netflix watching makes me feel so lazy lol.
April was a pretty slow month for me over on the blog. It rained most weekends and my month was jam-packed to the brim. I wrapped up my prom collaborations and at this point I’m just looking forward to sharing my Get Ready With Me after the actual dance on May 17th. I’ll be honest, I was MIA on Instagram more times than I would’ve liked and slacked on the story end of things too. It happens…
This month I’m looking to jump back into the swing of things. I’m hoping to post at least three times a week which seems doable during this extremely busy season of life. Aside from that I’m keeping a habit tracker like I did back in February to hold myself accountable on posting Instagram pictures and stories each day! I’m looking forward to it as consistency brings me the most pride.
I’m in the process of brainstorming back to school ideas and pitching brands for some beach week swimsuits and outfits. I’d love to blog every day again in the months of July and August like I did last summer and am wracking my brain and schedule to find the creativity and time to make it happen! I’m not making any promises now but please know that I’m trying to make it happen as summer is definitely my favorite time of the year to post. I’ll keep you guys posted. It also feels worth mentioning that I’ve been toying with the idea of vlogging in the summer. I’m hoping to get a new vlog camera soon (I’m thinking the Canon G7X) and feel like it would be fun to start sharing more stuff over on my YouTube channel. Who knows… I’m probably getting ahead of myself but I’m feeling rather ambitious all of a sudden.
My personal life felt so good this month! April is one of my favorite months of the school year. School work starts to wind down, the weather starts to warm up, and I finally find myself having things to do. Baseball season has been in full swing. We have a 9-5 record right now and are ranked second in or division giving us a bye for the first round of playoffs. I’ve got my fingers crossed that we win a Regional title this year. With football and cheer season both ending in ways I would’ve prefered they didn’t, I’m putting all my faith in the baseball team. It’s been so fun hanging around the guys and getting to soak up our time together! I also published Issue 5 of our school’s Newspaper. The class has felt extra fun lately and I’m so grateful for both the experiences and relationships I’ve gained from this school year; it’s bittersweet working on my final issue as Editor-In-Chief. Other highlights of the month were wrapping up cheer season with my final banquet, celebrating Easter with both my families, and winning some awesome games!
I’m so excited for May. It’s looking like it’s going to be the busiest month of the year and I cannot say I’m disappointed by it. Next week I have three exams and senior night for baseball along with three games. The following week I have a handful of appointments, two more exams, and my senior prom. Followed by my last week of highschool, my eighteenth birthday, graduation, and celebrating with my family and friends at my graduation party. It’s so crazy how fast this school year has flown. Forgive me if things are slower around here than usual, I’ll be busy soaking up these final weeks. Thanks for hanging around and for watching me grow up over the years. you all are the absolute best!
With love, McKenz
