Looking for an outfit that will compliment your body type? I have so many of you reaching out to me asking for outfit ideas that will compliment your shape. Now I can’t speak for everyone since obviously we all don’t look alike here, but today I wanted to share some of my tips and tricks for choosing outfits that flatter my figure.
I know it may not look it from my photos, but I’m actually pretty petite in person. At 5’3″ it’s really easy for skinny jeans to make my frame look stubby. Wearing a sock bootie is my secret to avoiding that problem. A two-inch bootie like this silver sparkly pair is the perfect option; they are just high enough to give your legs a little lift but are still walkable for every day. Plus, sock booties tend to elongate your legs regardless of how tall or short you are—with a tighter fit around the ankle these are perfect.
I know so many people who struggle with getting dressed in the mornings. The truth is, there are days when I do the same. My answer is always black on black. Black is slimming on every body type so it should be a no brainer. I prefer a fitted turtleneck tucked into black high waisted skinny jeans. A high rise fit hugs me in all the right places and by tucking my top in, I’m able to highlight the small of my waist. Aside from your body type, it’s important to analyze your personal style. Do you prefer boujee or bummy? Either is fine, but I’m definitely on the boujee end.
I wear faux fur constantly because it makes me feel confident— and that my friends, is the best tip I can give you. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident in your own skin. In addition to faux fur, a big ole statement earring always makes me feel a little more “me”. This star pair has been my go-to recently.

Whatcha got? Boobs? A butt? I got stuck with legs but I’m not complaining. Jeans don’t always make my legs look the longest but a romper/dress/skirt situation always does just the trick for me. The hem typically hits just at the smallest part of my thighs making my legs appear super long and skinny. My mindset: if you got em, flaunt em. Regardless of what “em” is.
I picked up this romper in search of the perfect piece to wear in New York City during fashion week. I happened to find a blazer dress I like even better for the big week; this one was almost as good so I had to share it regardless. The blazer like silhouette leaves this look with a super sophisticated feel. However, the lower cut, cinched waist, and built-in shorts make this romper the perfect amount of sexy. I think it’s a killer combination.
I told you earlier that my secret weapon is a pair of sock booties. This pair from SheIn that I just picked up is no joke. They are a bit taller than the previous pair and with a bit of a point, they make your legs look miles long, especially when paired with a romper like this one. I finished off my look with a pair of chunky gold hoops to compliment the belt.

If I could pick one pair of jeans to wear for the rest of my life, this pair would be pretty high up on the list. Like I mentioned earlier, high rise denim is my go-to. This pair has got the perfect fit up top, super skinny until they flare out at the bottom. If you’re not super curvy (like me), flares are a good way to fake it till you make it. A high rise fit will catch your waist at its smallest point and belle bottoms will give the ultimate illusion. Not to mention, they make your legs look super long too!
My favorite thing to pair with these jeans is a cropped sweater. The best type of crop is one that hits just above your waistline to keep your mid-drift from looking bulky. I’m pretty self-conscious about my super long arms, so these balloon sleeves make the perfect statement. Now you know why I wear so many tops with a large sleeve; I’m spilling alllll my secrets today, baby!
I’m wearing another pair of sock booties here. This pink pair is from Marc Fisher— I’ve had them for quite some time now and they are some of my favorites. I popped on a cute little furry purse from SheIn and a large pair of earrings to give this look the pizazz it needed.
