My First Cashmere Pieces

You guys, I finally own something cashmere! When State Cashmere reached out to me about a collaboration after being featured on the LIKEtoKNOW.it Instagram I was ecstatic. My mom absolutely swears by her cashmere pieces and wears them year-round. I’ve seen these items become staples in her wardrobe which is why I knew picking up a few pieces would serve me well these next few months in Ohio.

THE MATCHING SET

You have no idea how happy I was when I discovered State Cashmere has matching sets available. I love how simple matching sets are; they are a no brainer outfit which makes getting dressed in the morning far easier. For days when I’m lounging around my room just catching up on schoolwork and getting things done for the blog, this is the perfect option.

The quality of this set is insane— not only is it super soft and cozy but it’s extra warm making trekking across campus for a mediocre dining hall dinner a little more enjoyable. As you can tell, I’m speaking from experience, specifically Wednesday, lol. This set comes in a handful of colors but I went with the camel. I wanted something different than my typical black and white; I love that the camel is unique yet still a neutral so it’s easy to mix and match these pieces.

I cannot even tell you how many compliments I got while wearing this set. Forget jeans, I have a feeling I’ll be living in this set from now on. I just cannot get enough of the joggers. To keep things casual I’m wearing this set with chunky white sneakers and a thick gold hoop. This is the perfect lazy day outfit when you still want to look cozy + chic.

BRING ON THE BASICS

As much as I love me a matching set, I was dying to pick up a couple of basics too. I knew a black turtleneck would be a smart piece to invest in; I have so many black sweaters but none that are cashmere. Because this style sweater is so timeless and such a staple in my wardrobe, I knew a high-quality one that would last me years would be a smart move. I couldn’t love this more!

I also wanted to grab a beanie! Since being back in Ohio I’ve quickly realized that a hat and gloves aren’t really an option anymore— they are a must. I was dying to grab a high-quality hat that I could wear for years to come. This one is crazy soft and it’s the perfect fit on my head. I like that it’s not super slouchy so the puffball sticks straight up which is just the way I like it.

I’m wearing the two pieces together as this is a pretty standard going to class outfit for me. I slipped on a pair of dark wash skinny jeans and to keep my feet warm and dry, I’ve got on a pair of snakeskin bean boots from Jambu (blog post coming on these cuties next week!). Throw on my parka and I’m good to go for a day of classes and walking around campus.
