Spring called and said pastels were trending! Groundbreaking, right?! In all honesty, I’ve never been a huge fan of pastels but this season I’ve been finding ways to style the soft hues that suit my personal style while staying trendy. Today I’ve got four spring-ready looks just waiting to be recreated by you!
If it weren’t for quarantine, now would be the time that we would start heading to graduation parties, cookouts, celebratory dinners, and all that fun stuff. I love a good romper for those events and despite this time of year being a bit different than intended, I still wanted to throw in a look that would be perfect for all that excitement. This tie-back romper is a bold way to wear a pastel pink hue this spring.
I love how classy this halter neckline is. This romper runs a bit large so I would recommend sizing down if you decide to grab it. This look definitely needed some height to it but I didn’t want to make it too fancy which is why I reached for espadrille wedges. My straw bag and statement earrings help pull this look together while giving things more of an easy-breezy beach vibe, lol is that even a thing?! I say yes.

It’s no secret that tie-dye is all the rage right now; it’s like the 2000s all over again but even more forceful. I think we have quarantine boredom to thank for that. I like tie-dye but personally only when it’s one color mixed with white. The rest seems a little tacky in my opinion, that is until I found this pastel bodysuit! Something about these colors mixed together caught my eye; these soft hues reminded me of cotton candy at the fair.
I love this bodysuit because it’s such a flattering fit + thong style with snaps which is the best kind there is—makes going to the bathroom that much easier, lol. I tucked this into a pair of white cut-off shorts. I grabbed these from Express last year and they are the best; hoping they come back in stock again this year. For shoes, I slipped on some chunky platform sneakers. This is the perfect laid back look for the summertime. Ironically, it would actually be the cutest outfit for the fair!

Oh boy, never in a million years did I ever expect to love an outfit this much. Truthfully, this top isn’t anything special on the hanger but when styled the right way, it’s one of a kind. These sleeves are a mix of puff and bishop sleeves, inspired by the colonial times. The classic silhouette has been modernized with buttons along the chest, a cropped fit, and the cutest pastel pink for the spring.
Because this top is so short, it definitely needs a pair of high rise jeans to keep the look proportionate. I’m, of course, wearing my favorite cropped flare jeans from Express. Not only are these jeans super flattering but they are the perfect cut when paired with some dainty block heels. I’ve had this velvet pair for years now and still reach for them constantly. As for accessories, I kept things fairly simple with just a pair of gold hoops and a black chain purse. I love how classy this pairing is and think it’s perfect for a dinner date.

My final look is a silky slip dress. I’ve styled a few of these already this season but I couldn’t resist sharing this pastel beauty. While my other looks incorporated a pink color palette, this dress has all the soft purples and blues you could dream of! It’s like it’s trying to be tie-dye but it’s got more of a water-colored effect. This cowl neckline is so flattering and perfect for a dressier event.
To elongate the legs I’m reaching for my favorite lace-up heels. I seriously cannot stop talking about these because they are that good. I popped on a pair of white and gold statement earrings and my favorite cuff from Mantra Band to complete this look.

I couldn’t be happier with the way these looks came together. I’m having so much fun breaking out of my style shell and finding new ways to style pieces within my wardrobe. Are you wearing pastels this spring? If so, be sure to let me know which look was your favorite in the comments below. I hope you enjoyed!
With love, McKenz
