My Favorite Place To Buy Denim

As a petite girl with long legs, I have always struggled with finding denim that fits me in all the right places. That is until I tried my first pair of Express jeans. A year later I am convinced that they have the best denim on the market, including shorts. With the official start of summer just around the corner and temperatures on the rise, I figured now was the perfect time to pick up a few new pairs to complete my wardrobe.

High Waisted Rolled Mom Jean Shorts 

Up until a few months ago, I’ve never been a big mom jeans lover. I found a pair from Express back in March and they changed my life. No, seriously. I used to be a die-hard skinny jeans lover and I’ve worn them maybe three times since picking up those mom jeans. Needless to say, when I saw that Express had released a pair of mom jean shorts I had to get my hands on them. While I love a pair of short shorts for the summer, they definitely aren’t the most comfortable. The mom jean style is a bit longer and super loose around the thighs. I ordered my true size in these, a 00, and they just fit. If you want them to be a bit looser around your waist I’d recommend going up a size.

To pair with those shorts I’m wearing a cute little lace cami. I have this one in black too and it’s one of my favorites; super easy to dress up or down. To keep this outfit a bit more casual I’m throwing on some tan lace-up sandals. Not only do these elongate my legs but they look perfect when paired with this snakeskin buckle belt!

Super High Waisted Paperbag Tie Jean Shorts 

This outfit combination right here is easily one of my most worn of the summer. I love a simple crop top paired with some high waisted shorts. I’ve always been a fan of paper bag style shorts so it was no surprise that these caught my eye. I got a 00 in these as well and they are true to size. I love the looser, more relaxed feel paper bag style shorts have to them and these are the perfect everyday wash.

This specific style of denim looks adorable with a cute little crop top like this one from SheIn. I just recently got this and it’s already on repeat. Super versatile and a great basic to have in a few different colors. If you don’t want to wear a crop top, I recommend reaching for something fitted like a bodysuit that will seamlessly tuck into your shorts. I’m popping on some fun summer accessories + sandals to complete my look.

I’ve had so many of you ask questions over the last few weeks regarding denim shorts. All of the pairs I own with the exception of one are last season from Express or Express Factory. While those pairs are no longer carried by them, I figured I would go ahead and link some of the other pairs I currently have my eye on.

What’s your go-to place to shop for denim? I would say 90% of my denim comes from Express, especially when it comes to shorts! Other places I’ve purchased from and loved over the years are American Eagle, Hollister, and TJ Maxx.
