Athliesure Looks With Spanx

I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I was when Spanx reached out to me regarding a collaboration! I have been wanting to try their leggings for years now upon several recommendations from my favorite bloggers but never took the plunge until now. I chose a few different pieces to showcase on my Instagram but decided they were too good not to share with you here on the blog, too!

The founder, Sara Blakely is so inspiring and I’ll admit, I spent about an hour reading up on her after reading her “About” page on spanx.com. In 2012, she was named the youngest female self-made billionaire by Forbes Magazine— I mean come on; does it get any cooler than that?! Nothing makes me feel better than supporting a brand founded by strong, independent women.

And for them to believe in me and want to partner up makes it that much more meaningful. I know some people think shapewear, bras, undies, and hosiery when the word Spanx comes to mind but they have stepped up their game drastically in the last few years expanding to leather leggings, workout wear, jeans, and more.

The Classics

I decided to go the clothing route as there are so many pieces I have been itching to get my hands on. I’ve had my eyes on their classic faux leather leggings for years now so these were a no brainer for me. These leggings are one of their best sellers and I could see why the second I tried them on. Just as promised these will give you a “flat gut and great butt”. These suck in every part of you and are so slimming.

I am wearing an XS regular in these. For length purposes, I definitely could have gone with the petite but I grabbed the regular so that I could wear them full length or tuck them under if I wanted them more of that 7/8 length. I went for more of an athleisure vibe but I know so many bloggers who dress their Spanx up with chunky sweaters, tunics, and more. The faux leather has the perfect amount of shine so they are a step up from the basic bottoms you’re used to.

I figured for the sake of being realistic, this is a pretty accurate outfit you’d find me wearing around campus. Just a cute cropped tee and some chunky sneakers. I’ve got on my favorite accessories too—gold hoops, a few layered necklaces, cat-eye sunnies, and a belt bag for ~cool girl~ vibes. Not only do I look fab but I’m comfy too! I could not be more excited to have these leggings for my upcoming school year; I can already tell I will be getting tons of use out of them.

Sporty Chic

I also see so many people rave about their seamless collection so I had to put them to the test! I’m a huge fan of seamless leggings, especially for the gym. I find that they are the most comfortable and they suck me in like no other workout clothes. I went with the Look At Me Now leggings in black camo.

I found that this material ran a bit smaller than the faux leather so for a more comfortable fit, I’d recommend going up a size. I’m wearing the XS and would go up to the Small if I were to purchase a second pair. I did, however, love how high waisted these were, sucking me in at my smallest point.

I went ahead and grabbed the sports bra too as I’m all about a matching set for the gym. While this top didn’t have any padding or built-in cups, I found it to be very supportive due to it’s cut. It’s not too low in the front and has lots of coverage along the side so no side boob/spillage here!

Meet Me On The Race Track

Last but not least I grabbed their infamous motto leggings. I wasn’t sure if I needed a second pair of faux leather leggings but after much debate, I decided that these would ultimately be a good investment for the school year as I could wear these to class, going out, dinner with the girls, or just lounging around. There are so many ways to wear these!

These have got a fun, edgy spin on your typical leggings. I decided a graphic tee and chunky sneakers was how I’d be styling them. This is a pretty go-to outfit combo for me on a work from home day throughout the school year; I know I’ll be recreating this outfit a bunch in the fall! I added some accessories to bring the look together.

I’ve got these leggings rolled under a bit to make them an ankle fit but they come full length! They’ve got the same fit as the first pair and I am wearing an XS in these as well.

Agh, I just am so excited about these new pieces. Spanx are definitely an investment but I’m here to tell you they are worth every penny. I can already tell these will be pieces I keep in my wardrobe for years to come and am so glad I reached for timeless items that can be styled endless ways! That’s a wrap for today’s new finds.
