Styling Express Basics

I asked you on Instagram yesterday what you need help styling and I was blown away by how many responses I received. I can’t believe how many of you need help styling basics and date night outfits! I’m getting right to work and will be sharing a few different lookbooks with you over the next few weeks.

Funny enough, I shot this cute little outfit over the weekend and think it fits both of those requests. Today I’m sharing a few new basics from Express—ironically this outfit would be perfect for a date whether it be grabbing coffee, a picnic outside, or dinner on the deck!

I get asked constantly wear I buy my denim and the answer is almost always Express. I used to really struggle when it came to finding jeans that fit me but after discovering their jeans, I’ve been hooked ever since! They fit me in all the right places and tend to be the perfect length on me.

Recently, I’ve been obsessed with their new cropped flare style. I’m a huge fan of flared jeans but they aren’t always the best for the summertime. Too long and hot plus I want to be able to show off my cute shoes! I find this style to be so flattering on my petite frame. They are super high waisted which is a must to pair with all my crop tops and start to flare out just below the knee. They’ve got a raw hem that hits just at the ankle—elongating the legs big time.

I know not everyone’s a huge denim fan but these are the Stretch+ material that’s so comfortable and easy to move around in. I always feel a bit more put together in jeans rather than shorts. I’ve got them on with just a simple white crop top. I picked this up from Express last summer and it’s easily my most worn tank.

You could easily throw on flip flops to keep things casual but I wanted to spice this look up a bit. I just picked up these gorgeous statement earrings from Express and they bring so much life to this look. I love their color palette and think the metals mix so well together. I went ahead and reached for my gold cuff and a cute nude crossbody to pull the look together!

My sandals are also new and are only $20 right now! They come in three different colors but I grabbed them in gold. I am a sucker for lace-up sandals—especially with cropped flare jeans! They make you look a bit more dressed up, however they are flat which makes them comfortable for walking around.
