Four and a half years ago I published my very first blog post and since I have connected with hundreds of amazing girls from all over the country! Molly from @gracefullygingham was one of my first ever internet friends. She started her blog right around the same time and we’ve been connected through Instagram ever since.
As much as I love all the virtual friends I’ve made over the years, I’ve never had the chance to meet any in real life. That is until last week! Molly and I have been trying to meet up for months now and with airfare decently priced and a free week in July, I booked a ticket to Charleston, South Carolina to spend some time with her and her family.
I talked all about our trip in yesterday’s Weekly Wrap Up, sharing what I wore and some pictures from our trip. We got to do some touristy things, shoot a ton of content, and get some shopping done. I also vlogged the entire week while there; you can check it out here if you missed the video!
Last Tuesday Molly and I woke up bright and early to snap some photos in downtown Charleston with the sweetest photographer, Paige Jords. We started by the battery and worked our way towards King Street, snapping photos everywhere in between.
Charleston is easily the most photogenic city I’ve ever been to. If it weren’t for the awful humidity, I could totally envision myself somewhere similar post-grad. Everywhere we turned there was a cute house, colorful building, or some sort of unique greenery. I don’t think Madison would ever complain about our photoshoot locations becoming too repetitive if that were where we lived! I loved it.
I wanted to share some of the photos from our shoot with you today! I shot two outfits but started off in a gorgeous emerald green romper. I just recently received this and fell in love with it almost instantly! The color is incredible and the silky material is so elegant. I paired it with some tall nude heels and a pair of butterfly earrings to match.
This outfit could work for almost any occasion and made me feel so feminine and pretty! I wasn’t sure about sporting such a bold color for our professional shoot but it ended up being the perfect statement; the color complimented my summer tan and my surroundings beautifully.

My next look was this gorgeous royal blue pleated dress. I have had this cutie in my closet for over a year but have never had the chance to snap photos in it so I figured today was the day. Again, I was so happy that I chose such a bright, happy hue. This is one of my favorite colors to wear and going monochrome with matching heels was a perfect choice! I popped on some sparkly earrings to make a statement.

Molly and I obviously snapped some photos together too. I am so glad we were able to capture this special trip together and Paige did an awesome job bringing our vision to life! Make sure you’re following Molly on her blog, Instagram, and Pinterest. And if you’re local to South Carolina check out Paige’s Instagram and website to book a shoot. She specializes in both lifestyle portraits and couples photography.
I could not have asked for a better week away and am so grateful for internet friends turned real ones. Fingers crossed I will have the chance to meet more blogger besties in the coming months! Stay tuned for a few more Charleston pictures coming your way soon.
With love, McKenz
