I never thought I’d see the day of me styling straight leg jeans on the blog but here we are. Like I said in Friday’s blog post, Tik Tok convinced me to test out this trend and I’ve been hooked ever since. I was on a major flare kick all fall long and am excited to switch things up this season and try something new!
I’ve got three pairs of black straight-leg jeans to share with you today—they are all from different retailers so there’s a price point for everyone! I’ve definitely been trying to step out of my comfort zone when it comes to styling outfits lately so I hope these outfits give you a little bit of inspiration.
I picked up these straight-leg jeans from SheIn in the medium wash a few weeks ago and absolutely loved them. So much so that I had to grab them in black a few weeks later! These jeans are amazing, especially for the price. The sizing is based on waist size so I grabbed these in my true 25″. They have a looser fit up top to give the jeans a very relaxed feel all around.
Most jeans I wear are on the cropped side but these babies are full length. You can totally dress these bottoms up with a pair of booties or heels but I’m keeping things casual and sticking to my tried and true white chunky sneakers. I’ve also been wearing my Converse with these and love that look as well.
You can style these bottoms with just about anything— sweater vests, bodysuits, crop tops, you name it. However, I wanted to switch things up today and test out one of these “arm warmer” hoodies. I know these aren’t everyone’s style, and honestly, I’m not sure they suit mine either, but I’ve been seeing them all over Pinterest and just had to give them a try. It’s a funky twist on a classic hoodie that gives your outfit some unexpected flare. I popped on black sunnies and a white bag to tie the look together.

In addition to straight-leg jeans, I’ve also never been a huge fan of super ripped ones either. However, I saw Danielle Carolan wearing these jeans a few different times and she just looked so…. effortless. You know, the kind of girl whose outfit makes you do a double-take because it’s just so ~cool~. Yea, needless to say, I hopped on Princess Polly and ordered the same ones just days later.
These also have that asymmetrical waistline that’s so trendy right now. I’m wearing a size 2 in these and definitely could have gone down to the 0 as they run a bit big up top. They are super wide throughout the actual pant legs and are on the shorter side so platform Converse were the perfect kicks to wear with them.
My go-to combo these days has been a simple cami and a shacket. I wear this black tank at least once a week. It’s awesome for layering and comes in a gazillion colors. Rather than wearing something flannel, I went with a neutral shacket layered over top. I love the boxy, oversized fit of this. Don’t forget a crossbody purse to help give the look some dimension.

If you’ve been following my blog for some time now then you know how much I love a good pair of Express jeans. Their denim is made of a three-way stretch fabric that’s incredibly comfortable. Out of the three pairs, these definitely fit me best, hugging my waist in all the right places. They are super wide throughout and have a cropped, raw hem that looks perfect with a pair of heeled booties or slip-on mules.
The key to styling something that’s super wide on the bottom is reaching for a fitted top—this way you keep your shape! I’m wearing one of my favorite long sleeve bodysuits from Princess Polly with a black leather jacket layered over top. Again, I’m wearing that same crossbody bag; I seriously cannot say enough good things about it. It fits everything and is so stylish!

Well, have I convinced you to grab a pair of straight leg jeans yet?! I sure hope so. I’ve always been a sucker for denim and cannot wait to style these pairs more throughout the coming months. Let me know what other trends you’d like me to test out + style in the comments below. Thanks so much for sticking around!
With love, McKenz
