I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a hundred times more, nobody does denim quite like Express. I’ve been purchasing my jeans from them for years now and can honestly say they’ve changed the game. I’ve got at least thirty pairs in my collection and yet I always find myself going back to my Express jeans.
Although I have a few holy grail pairs from them, the denim style is definitely changing this season. With trends shifting from skinnies to straight legs I figured it was time to pick up a few new pairs. Plus, Express is having a 50% off sale right now so there is no better time to stock up. I grabbed three myself and am styling them here for you today—enjoy!
I know, I know I just said I was giving *new* styles a try this spring but I seriously couldn’t resist grabbing another pair of cropped flare jeans. If you’ve been following me for quite some time now then you know these are my tried and true from Express. I’m 5’2″ and wear a 00 regular in their bottoms.
These hit just at the ankle which I love—they are so easy to transition from winter with a pair of boots to spring with a pair of sandals. This new dark wash is so classy—definitely the perfect option if you’re looking for a pair of jeans that look a bit “dressier”/more polished.
I wanted to keep this sophisticated and put together which of course meant reaching for a ribbed turtleneck. I have this Fashion Nova sweater in a gazillion colors. It’s perfect for layering or worn on its own. To keep things on-trend I’m slipping into a pair of chocolate brown booties. I’m obsessed with this color combo at the moment and this heel height is perfect for everyday wear. A matching felt hat did just the trick in pulling this outfit together.

I’ve always loved the idea of mom jeans but truth be told I couldn’t find a pair that fit me right to save my life. Well, that is until I discovered this pair from Express. For once I’ve found a pair of mom jeans that aren’t falling off—although these have a relaxed fit throughout the legs, they are fitted throughout the waist making them super flattering.
These are a little longer than the cropped flares but definitely still an ankle style. I personally love the raw hems and find that these jeans pair perfectly with sneakers. I can’t stay away from my platform Converse these days. I reached for my black pair this time around.
I’m keeping things super casual up top, as I do most days when wearing mom jeans. This seamless tank is a recent Forever 21 find and I am obsessed. It fits like a glove and pairs with literally everything. I wanted to play around with texture a bit so I’m layering a leather shacket overtop. I can’t say this is the warmest outfit out there but it’s one that works for practically every college occasion. Finish off the look with a few gold rings and a pair of hoops to match!

Oh baby, I’ve officially joined the straight leg life! You see, often times when wanting to try a new denim trend I’ll choose a pair of jeans from a retailer like Fashion Nova or SheIn. If the trend sticks around for some time or if I fall in love with that specific style, then I’ll turn to Express and pick up a true high quality pair from there.
And that my friends, is how I ended up with these new straight-leg jeans. It’s so refreshing finding a pair of pants that flatter my waistline + tush; like I’ve said a gazillion times Express does this best (for me personally). These too are that same ankle length with a raw hem. This time around I’m pairing mine with some new Dolce Vita booties.
This “Ecru” color is my current favorite. It’s not quite white but it’s not quite nude either. I call it that perfect in-between that pairs with all kinds of neutrals! Plus, the crocodile finish is so on-trend right now. I’m playing with more chocolate brown in this outfit, layering a cropped tank underneath one of my favorite knit cardigans. I’ve had this piece since high school and still find myself wearing it! I know this is a simple outfit combo but it’s one that I reach for often throughout these online school days.

Well, have I convinced you yet?! I just looked and Express is also offering an additional 60% off of clearance too making some of their jeans less than $30! Their quality seriously cannot be beaten and if it weren’t for my two jean drawers being completely stuffed to the brim, I’m sure I’d be browsing for a few more. 😉
Let me know which pair of jeans are your favorite in the comments below along with where you tend to buy your denim from. I know that most people tend to stick with one retailer and I’ve definitely gone through my fair share of phases. There was a time where I swore by Abercrombie and then switched over to American Eagle! Funny how times have changed.
With love, McKenz
