I’ve always been a big fan of flare jeans so I was one happy gal when I heard they were going to be one spring 2021’s biggest trends. You know I’m a huge fan of Express jeans and even have a few tried and true pairs of Levi’s but when it comes to flares, Fashion Nova is my go to.
Something about the fit of them is just right. They’ve released tons of new styles and I couldn’t resist getting my hands on a few pairs + some cute new pieces for spring break. Today’s YouTube haul is chock full of goodies but I’m styling the best of the best here on the blog for you today!
Many, many years ago I scored a pair of white Abercrombie flare jeans for $12 off of the TJ Maxx clearance rack. It’s safe to say I got my moneys worth—I wore them thin, styling them constantly back in the day. I decided it was time for an upgrade and turned to Fashion Nova for a replacement pair.
I have several pairs of their flares already so knew they’d be the perfect place to look. This style is definitely my favorite of the bunch. I’m typically a size 00 and wear a 24 in their jeans. They are super high rise and hug my tush beautifully. They run a little sung up top, sucking you in in all the right places so if you’re in between sizes I recommend going up one. These are just the right amount of fitted throughout the thighs and flare out into big ole bell bottoms. I’m 5’2 and wear all of my flares with a three inch heel to keep the bottoms from dragging!
I find that I reach for my white flares most often. They are the perfect step up from regular denim when wanting to look a bit dressier. With a navy silk bandana top and a pair of nude heels this is the perfect look for a dinner downtown. Don’t forget a big pair of statement earrings and a cute crossbody bag to go with!

Something about this outfit reminds me of something Miley would wear in Hannah Montana The Movie, lol. Regardless, the 70s are coming back in style this season and with that comes patchwork everything. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this trend at first but grabbed a pair of patchwork pants about a month ago. I styled them in this blog post and you guys went crazy over them! I ended up loving them and was thrilled that you liked them as much as I did.
So, naturally I had to pick up a pair of patchwork flares too. These ones have tons of different washes throughout and patches that are all different shapes and sizes. With random pockets and seams throughout, these are a super unexpected yet fun pair of jeans.
They speak for themselves so I kept the rest of my outfit super simple, throwing on a cropped white tee. Shoes can be tricky with flares—I reached for a classic pair of white booties. I’m not sure they fit the vibe of the outfit entirely but my pants are pretty long, covering most of them anyways. Of course, I had to complete this outfit with my favorite felt hat. This one from Lulus is my favorite!

I wouldn’t say these pants necessarily qualify as flares but they sure are fun. Never in my life have I ever come across a pair of pants so wide. These remind me of the photos from the 70s we get to look through during my trend forecasting classes. They definitely aren’t the most practical pair of pants but they were too fun not to pick up.
These are a super sturdy denim and have a bit more structure than the last two pairs. The light tan is the perfect neutral for this time of year too.
For this look I went with a white, long sleeve crop top. This piece is also from Fashion Nova and has a super cute open back that laces up a few times. It goes with everything and I find myself reaching for it all the time! Slipping into a pair of white heels to give me some lift—although these pants run so long that you can hardly see them, haha.

If you’re looking for a big ole pair of bell bottoms than I highly recommend checking out Fashion Nova. I’ve been wearing their denim for about a year now and have racked up quite the collection. They are perfect for our Wednesday night square dancing sessions here at The Dusty Armadillo! Stay tuned for my upcoming Weekly Wrap Ups to see even more ways I’m wearing these beauties.
With love, McKenz
