These summer weeks sure are flying. After a fun afternoon spent celebrating Father’s Day, Madison dropped me off at the airport for my next adventure! This time around I headed to Charleston, South Carolina for a week with my blogger bestie. I met Molly for the first time last summer, after several years of internet friendship. While we had our fun last trip, I’m not sure this one can be topped!
Between tons of eating, a gazillion outfit changes, and time spent catching up I couldn’t have asked for a better week. I’ve got a travel guide + Charleston outfit ideas blog post coming soon but in the meantime, here’s a little sneak peek. I hope you all are having the best summer so far.
With love, McKenz

My week of eating started off at Black Hog Barbeque—dad’s request for Father’s Day. Afterward, we hit up a new spot for ice cream. Grateful for a dad that pushes me to be my best and supports my dreams every step of the way! Packed up the last of my stuff and headed to the airport to catch my flight. Three delays later, I finally touched down in Charleston for a week of fun with my bestie!

My first full day in Charleston was packed to the brim, that’s for sure. We started the morning off with some photos along Mount Pleasant, followed by an outfit change for lunch at Taco Boy. The food was incredible here. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking along King Street, taking more photos for our blogs, and eating some takeout for dinner.

A rainy start to the day called for some morning computer work. It finally cleared up a bit so we headed out for a late lunch and a trip to Shem’s Creek. This is where Outer Banks was filmed and it was so cool to see it all in person. We headed to Folley Beach for dinner and the sunset. Today’s vibes were immaculate.

We headed out bright and early this morning, starting the day off with a dip in the pool + some photos at the new Ryder Hotel. It’s the cutest new spot in Charleston! In the afternoon, we hit all the tourist spots—rainbow row, the pineapple fountain, the battery, College of Charleston, and more. It’s safe to say we took a lot of pictures!

Today consisted of all my favorite things: brunch, beach, and baseball! We had the best breakfast at The Pink Cactus followed by some window shopping along this side of Charleston. Then off to Kiawah Island for an afternoon by the water. We were dying to watch a baseball game so we went to see The Charleston Riverdogs. They lost terribly but a sweet gentleman gave us free tickets so we couldn’t complain!

My last day in Charleston was another full one. We hit up King Street for one last lunch together. I got to see the Charleston Market for the first time and was infatuated with all the unique pieces each vendor was selling. We did a little shopping at the Tanger Outlets (they have such good stuff at this location) before packing my suitcase up. A quick flight back home followed by tons of chatting with the rents finished off the perfect Friday.

Much of my Saturday was spent recharging in bed. I had the best time with Molly but I’m exhausted from all we did! I had some major work to catch up on but still managed to fit in an afternoon walk with my mama. Connor joined us for dinner out and we spent the rest of the night singing karaoke at the top of our lungs.
