With wedding season approaching I know many of you are scrambling to find an appropriate dress for the occasion that won’t break the bank. What if I told you there was a more sustainable, cost-effective way to purchase your next wedding guest dress?
Today I’m sharing a few dress ideas all from Rent The Runway. Rent the Runway is a membership-based platform that gives you access to thousands of designer pieces and accessories for a flat price. This month I chose four items.
When you’re done rocking that dress to your next wedding (or whatever the event may be) you just send the items back and start choosing new ones. You are able to pause or cancel your membership at any time, making this one of the easiest ways to cycle clothing in and out of your closet.
This post isn’t sponsored I just truly feel this is one of the best ways to find a wedding guest dress. Check out their different memberships here—starting at just $69 a month for four items.
While yes, it’s fun to play with color in the summertime, you can truly never go wrong with a little black dress. Especially, if the theme is black tie. I just love this mermaid dress. It’s from the designer Milly and is so elegant.
It really is a show-stopping dress from the high neck to the open back to the gorgeous ruffle along the bottom. It falls right along the ankles so, of course, I went for my go-to heels, the Dolce Vita Pailys. I have these in a few colors and they are definitely some of my most comfortable heels. Perfect for a summer wedding!
Silk midi dresses are the wedding guest moment right now. They’ve been trending for some time now but with their timeless silhouette, I’d be shocked to see these go anytime soon. I especially love this rust color this time of year. It compliments so many different skin tones and especially makes that summer tan pop.
This self-ties around the neck and the back so you’ve got an open back and sweet cutouts along the chest. Similar to the last look, I’m reaching for those gold metallic heels and a simple nude bag to match. I reach for this duo all the time for this type of event!
I do love a floral moment in the summertime. This dress is a bit more relaxed than the previous two styles but still gorgeous nonetheless. This maxi has sweet ruffled sleeves and a low neckline that flatters the chest. It’s got a few cutouts around the chest but nothing super revealing.
This is a piece you can easily dress up or down. It would be super cute on vacation with simple sandals and a straw bag. Or, you can keep things classy, sporting heels and a matching purse for someone’s big day. This was definitely the most comfortable of the three, looking oh so effortless.
The fourth dress I picked out was short and sweet, perfect for Sunday brunch and church. I didn’t end up styling it in this post for you but figured I’d mention it since it was a part of my monthly subscription plan!
Have you ever used Rent The Runway? My cousins have been renting from them for years and are actually who introduced me to them. I’ve used it a few times now and love getting to try designers I wouldn’t normally purchase from. I especially love that if I were to fall in love with one of these pieces so much so, I could pay to keep it!
I’ll definitely be swapping out for a few more styles this wedding season.
With love, McKenz
