Summer internship season is in full swing which means business casual clothes are on the radar. Don’t worry, business doesn’t have to mean boring… I’ve gathered quite a few pieces over the last few weeks, mastering the perfect mix of professional yet trendy. Today I’m rounding up ten outfit ideas complete with links to shop so you can easily recreate them!
I never thought I’d find a cute pair of dress pants I actually liked until I found these bad boys. These are shockingly from SheIn and could not fit me better. I’m a 24-inch waist wearing an XS and they truly could not fit me better. I love the ankle cut too, as they work great with little heels.
These are the Paily heels from Dolce Vita. I have these in several dolors and they are some of the most comfortable in my collection. Bug big fan!

Speaking of “dress” pants I also found these from SheIn. They come in several bright colors and are such a fun way to spice up your closet. I grabbed two colors- green being my favorite. These are a lightweight linen however the waistband and fit give them a professional feel.
These are elastic so the sizing on them is great. Air dry so they don’t shrink at the bottom. This cute high neck tank adds some fun texture to the look and I’m tying it all together with some double strap heels. I know some offices don’t allow open-toed shoes—in this case, I’m no help because I won’t be caught dead in close-toed shoes in the summer haha.

All office’s definitions of business casual are different. Where I am, it’s totally okay to wear denim to work- as long as it’s appropriate! I find myself wearing these jeans from Express most often. These have a straight-leg fit that hugs the curves perfectly. This style pairs well with boots in the fall but for these summer months, I like to leave them cuffed with a pair of sandals!
These Dolce Vita sandals are some of my favorites as they are super comfortable for being on your feet all day. Up top I’m wearing a button-down- I cuff these at the sleeves and leave them half-tucked to give them a casual feel!

I find that so often people feel like their business casual wardrobe has to be boring and full of basics. That’s so not the case. In fact, now is the perfect time to break out the bright colors!
I’m going for a pink button-up this time around. I have these in so many colors and mix and match them all the time. The best is they can be repurposed as cover-ups when left unbuttoned over my bikinis! Wearing those same white dress pants and my fav Paily heels again.

When I’m not in the office I’m at the beach and even when I am in the office I still like to bring in elements of my other life. Meaning lots of rafia shoes and accessories. I just got these platforms from Marc Fisher and loveee them. They match my favorite Banana Republic tote perfectly. Sadly this bag is no longer in stock but it’s my go-to for a long shift.
Up top, I’m wearing the cutest puff sleeve peplum from Petal and Pup. They’ve got great options if you’re looking for some more modest pieces.

I grabbed these khaki-colored straight-leg jeans from Express a few weeks back and have been loving them. They give off a more elevated feel than jeans but they are just as comfortable/stretchy as the rest of my pairs. Tossed on with a white button-up and a pair of white heels you can’t go wrong. When I’m not wearing the straw bag I’m carrying my Louis Vuitton Neverfull. This truly fits everything and is so sleek. One of my best investments by far.

More pink please… if this color is too bold for you don’t fret, they’ve got other options too! I of course had to get the pink to keep my summer wardrobe popping. Plus, these match the Prada purse I’m borrowing from Vivrelle this month to a tee.
Up top, I’m wearing a high-neck tank from Express’s Body Contour Line. I have these in every color and they are amazing for the office. Tanks are fine here in California since it’s so hot but if that’s too casual where you are- they’ve got a short sleeve option or you could toss over a little shrug to cover the shoulders!

Eek how cute is this button-up with the feathered sleeves?! I seriously could not resist picking this up. The fun sleeves add so much to a look. Because the top is loud on its own, I’m keeping things simple with light wash jeans and a few pink accents. You’re sure to be the best-dressed girl in the office with this pairing.

I scored this adorable pink blouse from SheIn at the beginning of the summer and have been dying to wear it. It has amazing batwing sleeves with a high neckline that’s so sleek! Paired with jeans and a pair of slip-on heels you’ve got the perfect combo.

You can catch me in a monochrome outfit at almost any given point. I especially love the easy-breezy feel of white on white during the summer months. I like to add a bright pop of color with a blazer. This neon green one is so fun and scored me tons of compliments last week.
Blazers are def the easiest way to dress up basics. Me being me, of course, I had a pair of heels to match. I love these chunky mules from Steve Madden!

Are you working in an office right now?! If so, what’s your go-to business casual outfit. I know this definition changes quite a bit from coast to coast and from job type to job type so I’d love to hear from you to better my next batch of outfits! Thankfully for me, almost anything goes as there’s no dress code where I’m interning. Let me know if you’d be interested in seeing a second set of outfits and I’ll get working on those! Until then, I hope you enjoyed these ten.
With love, McKenz
