For the first time this whole year, I don’t feel the need to say that this month felt like the fastest one ever because in so many ways it didn’t feel fast. August brought the end of my Wisconsin adventures, a little beach trip, the revival of cheer season and a whole entire month worth of blogging… so my time was pretty much entirely occupied.
And although September brings school, responsibilities, and so many new beginnings, I could not be more excited for the fresh start. Although don’t get me wrong, I will totally miss Summer but what season’ s better than Fall?!! With such a chock-full month and lots to chat about, I decided it was time to sit down and take a look at my month and favorites in review.
As always, fashion’s up first! It’s usually pretty rare for me to get dressed/ready in the mornings throughout the month of August simply because I am always go go go in terms of my plans, due to cheer. You can typically find me in some Nike spandex and a Nike sports bra but when I did get dolled up it was for the sake of taking pictures for the blog. Therefore, all of my favorites this month revolve around looks that you may have seen in already. Once again, I wore my overalls lots more because once September is gone I typically have to retire them for the year and I like to hold onto them as long as possible. I fell in love with my faux glasses from Amazon once again and simply adored my white mules and pink velvet block heels from DSW! Other than that, my fashion choices were pretty dry this month but I am getting so incredibly excited for next month to wear all my new clothes and begin styling for the chillier temperatures and fall months; woohoo!!
This month I did wear makeup a handful of times which is certainly an upgrade from my last favorites post. I fell in love with the Wet N Wild Highlighter for days when I wanted to look extra glowy and sun-kissed. I stole this Maybelline Color Whisper from my sisters makeup drawer one day and realized that it’s the perfect everyday color for a gal like me that loves a light pink lip. I also wanted to mention that this month I really loved Aloe for my face, body, and everything else in between. Aloe has amazing healing purposes and works wonders on the skin; I highly recommend applying a bit each night if your skin has been suffering lately.
The verses that have stood out to me the most this month are from Luke 6. There are some truly incredible words throughout this scripture. It discusses in great length about the way you should treat others, giving to people even if all they do is take from you, and the proper way to love. My favorite verse is ‘For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of’ for it is abounding in the truth and has wisdom written all over it. I’d be happy to do a specific post on scripture if anyone’s interested. (just let me know!)
I’m on the final stretch of watching The Secret Life Of An American Teenager currently. I cannot wait to finish but don’t think I’ll be able to pick up on a new Netflix series, as I won’t have much time on my hands once I begin school next week. I read a book this month that was awful (and for school) so I won’t share much about it but I am now reading #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amorouso and am absolutely in love so far. If it wasn’t from the library I’d totally be marking up nearly every page with a highlighter and side comments.
If you read my favorites each month, you’d know that I have been struggling greatly with reaching my monthly goals. It turns out being self hosted makes getting traction to your site much harder than before. (insert crying emoji) However, I worked my booty off this month by posting everyday and really cracked down on things. Although I did not meet my monthly views goal, I finally achieved my blog count and Instagram follower goals; double YAY! I’m aware that September is going to be hectic so I’m going to keep things pretty realistic and say I’d like to gain 20 more blog followers and reach 2,500 Instagram followers. Feel free to help me out, I’ll gladly return the favor. (:
Well, I suppose that is all for now. Thanks for stopping by and listening (or should I say reading???) about my month of craze; these posts truly always make me feel better. Almost as if I’m sitting down and chatting with an old friend. I hope your month was fabulous and that September brings a new beginning and much happiness your way. Let me know what you were up to this month below along with any other questions, comments, or requests you may have for me. Talk soon! With love, McKenz.

I really want to read that book, I had no idea they had it at the library! It seems like a book you’d want to own, though. Great post!
Yes, I got it from the library first to see if I’d like it. And I love it!!!? thanks for stopping by.
