Believe me, when I said October was the busiest month of my life, I meant it. Between the three AP classes I am in, homecoming, spirit weeks, cheer on the rise due to competition season, and my inability to say ‘no’ when someone asks for my help with something, I have had practically every ounce of free time sucked from my weeks, literally.
However, despite the craziness, I still managed to have an awesome month and have fallen in love with some amazing products + I wore some of the best outfits, hands down. Without further ado, let’s get on with this post… it’s going to be one heck of a wrap-up!
Starting off with the fashion, as per usual. October where I live was much warmer than usual and chilly morning temperatures have just started to creep up so for a majority of the month I was able to get away with showing some leg and of course wearing some open-toed shoes. I have loved the color camel this month and wore multiple pairs of shoes in the color along with a few other clothing pieces like the stunning jumpsuit pictured above. I’ve been on a dress/skirt kick lately as you can probably tell and have been wearing the heck out of my simple gold jewelry. Oh, and I, of course, had to throw in my outfit from homecoming week for greek day- I mean come on, how awesome does that vine crown look on?!!?
If you’ve been reading any of my Makeup Of The Week’s lately you’ve probably realized that I’ve significantly toned down the makeup game this school year. That sort of saddens me because I really love wearing eyeshadow and a bold lip every day and feeling all fancy for school but let me tell y’all, I have been really desperate for those ten extra minutes of sleep each morning. I’ve been keeping my morning makeup routine simple and chic with a dewy finish, a whole lot of highlighter to liven my face up a bit, and a warm-toned lipstick from Wet N Wild! I adore their matte lipsticks and have been wearing the shade ‘Moch-a-licious’ like crazy. I also really loved all of the pumpkin scents from Bath and Body Works that have filled my bathroom this month!
Similar to last month, I have been slow with my Bible reading. However, I will say that I am doing significantly better in terms of sticking to a routine this month as opposed to last. I have enjoyed picking apart each sentence to truly find meaning in what I am reading at night and am so happy as I feel the Lord has really been answering my prayers lately. And for the most part, in ways I never had envisioned!
I’d be lying if I said that I’ve had more than forty minutes to watch TV this whole month. In fact, if we’re being honest, today was the first time this month that I was able to sit down and watch TV. I, of course, was watching the first episode of Riverdale’s Season 2 which sadly isn’t on Netflix but is on actual TV so you have to wait week to week for the episodes… no binge watching!!! It has truly felt good though to step away from TV this month and spend less time in front of a screen.
Each month I like to check in with my goals and see how I’m doing in terms of blogging as a whole. I did meet my Instagram following goal (woohoo!) but unfortunately, this month I do not feel proud of the things I have done here on my site. Not because I am ashamed of my content but mostly because lack thereof. However, life has simply gotten in the way and I have struggled to remind myself that blogging is a hobby and I will find time to be passionate about it when the time is right! This month I hope to prepare for the holiday season and up my posting schedule back to M,W,F. Oh, and of course I aim to remind myself each day that success is not an accident and to remember that God’s plan is greater than my own.
Alright, phew! Now that I’ve rambled on for what feels like forever, it’s your turn… what have you been up to this month?! Be sure to let me know below along with any other questions, comments, or requests you may have for me. Sending you all my love throughout the month of November! With love, McKenz.
