It feels like everyone under the sun has plans this Valentine’s Day besides me—and while yes, I will be enjoying the night on my couch, I wanted to give you the outfit ideas you’ve been asking for. I posted a series of polls and question boxes over on my Instagram stories last week and was overwhelmed with the number of responses I received.
Despite a booming pandemic, it seems couples everywhere are eager to celebrate the holiday with their special someone in style. Even if does mean just dressing up for takeout and a movie (the number one most requested occasion). So without further ado, here are six outfit ideas to wear this Valentine’s Day. Enjoy!
I would assume that because we’re in the midst of a pandemic, the bar for Valentine’s Day has been significantly lowered this year. However, even if you are just planning on taking cute photos with the girls or headed out to a nice dinner, I am a firm believer that there’s no shame in being overdressed.
Oh Polly sent over this adorable mini dress a few weeks ago and I knew instantly it’d be perfect for my Valentine’s Day lookbook. I mean come on—isn’t it perfect?! If a bold red hue is out of your comfort zone, try reaching for something subtle like this gorgeous maroon. This color flatters so many different complexions!
I’m usually not a fan of bodycon dresses as I have few curves and a rather flat tush but something about this ruched dress was calling my name. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised by the way it fit, hugging my figure in all the right places. The cutout along the chest added an unexpected twist to a rather simple silhouette.
This is definitely the kind of dress that needs a heel. I reached for a pair of nude lace-ups to elongate the legs and threw on a crossbody purse to match. Of course, no outfit of mine would be complete without a pair of earrings. These butterflies are some of my favorites!

I just wrapped up another try-on haul with Fashion Nova over on my YouTube channel and scored tons of cute bodysuits in my last package. This pink one felt like the perfect piece to style for today’s post—plus it’s on sale and comes in four different colors. Similar to the last dress, this bodysuit has those same ruched sleeves that give off all the flirty vibes.
Of course, I had to pair this sweet top with a pair of black jeans. I slipped into a pair of straight leg Express jeans with a few rips in the knee for an unexpected pairing. To keep things edgy I added a pair of black leather boots from SheIn. These shoes give you just enough lift for a night out and yet are incredibly easy to walk in.
Don’t forget to accessorize: a baguette bag, gold hoops, and a simple ring belt are all you need to take this outfit to the next level.

I know, I know another dress but this hot pink one was too good not to share with you! Statement sleeves and a bold pop of color are an unbeatable duo—this piece was made for me! Thanks to the self-tying details along the chest and legs, this dress works for any body shape.
The tie along the cups allows you to “mold” the fabric to your chest. While the tie along the skirt allows you to sinch the dress up, shortening it by a few inches if you are on the petite side like me. If you’re a bit taller or want less of your legs exposed, you can leave it undone! Accents like these are so universal.
No dress of mine would be complete without a crossbody purse and heels. This time around I’m going with just a simple nude block heel. Of course, you could add tights and boots to this dress if you were looking to make it a little more winter-appropriate.

Although I don’t have any classic Valentine’s Day red or pink mixed into this outfit, I figured the animal print spoke for itself. This silk midi is to die for and has an elastic waistband so you can eat all the chocolate your heart desires (in style!). If you’re not careful, skirts this length can easily swallow your figure.
If you’re petite like me, I highly recommend pairing yours with a pair of heels. This black pair from Fashion Nova is incredible. They’ve got a square toe and lace-up the ankles, elongating my frame.
The other key is making sure you wear something fitted up top. Rather than a big bulky sweater, a shapeless skirt like this one needs a fitted top. This square neck bodysuit is so classy and paired perfectly with this skirt. I have a feeling I will be getting tons of use out of this basic—it’s an awesome option for a business casual dress code too!

A majority of my Valentine’s Day polls and question boxes came back with answers saying you were keeping things simple this year by just going out to dinner. While the above outfits are definitely fit for the occasion, they definitely lean on the fancier side. I wanted to make sure I gave you at least one option that was a bit more “laid back”.
Of course, for me, that means a cute top and jeans! I love this black top from Windsor. It’s got sleeves that bishop out just a tiny bit and a cute tie along the center. Plus, you know my love for leopard—because this print is black on black it’s super subtle. Throw on a lacey bralette underneath if you’re wanting to spice things up.
As per usual I’m wearing my favorite pair of cropped flare jeans from Express. These fit me like a glove and look adorable with a taller bootie. If this look is still a bit dressy for you, swap the shoes for a pair of high-top sneakers or slip-on mules instead.

Last up for the outfits I wanted to play with some lace. I wore this bodysuit last weekend to hang with a few friends and got dozens of questions + compliments from both friends and followers. To answer everyone’s question, it’s from the one and only Fashion Nova. It’s got a sheer back, lace sleeves, and underwire cups that are surprisingly very supportive.
This bustier-style top has been so popular the last few seasons and we’re seeing elements of it being brought back in spring 2021 corsets. I’m dying to get my hands on a few and will be styling them on the blog as soon as I do!
Because this top is a bit dressier (and ~sexy~), I felt a pair of relaxed mom jeans were just what the look needed. I love the fit of this Lulu’s pair. Pop on a pair of white booties and a pair of statement earrings and you’ve completed the perfect Valentine’s Day look. No tacky colors or “over the top” hearts here, something simple like this will leave you looking effortless.
