How To Wear: The Color Of The Summer

As I’m sure most of you know by now, I’m a twin. And back in the day, my mom would always dress us in matching outfits. Madison would wear the pink version and I would wear the purple. Eventually, we grew out of that phase and I stopped wearing the color all together.

That is until lilac became the color of the summer. Once I grabbed one item in the gorgeous hue, I couldn’t help myself from going back for more. While in Charleston this week I styled three outfit ideas around this fun summer color! Whether you’re looking for something dressy or casual I’ve got you covered.

Feeling Flirty 

This strapless romper is easily one of my favorite items that’s been sent to me this season. Not only is it adorable but it’s so easy to dress up or down. Plus, the quality of it is amazing. I was feeling flirty and decided to add white block heels and a cute crossbody to dress it up a bit.

This would be the perfect outfit for dinner out or grabbing brunch with your girls. If you wanted to tone it down a bit, throw on sandals and a cute pair of studs.

Basics But Better

If you keep up with my blog posts regularly you would know that I love this cropped tank from SheIn. I have it in six colors now and I wear them all the time. Whether it’s with joggers or denim shorts like I have on here, there are endless ways to style this basic top!

However, basics don’t have to be boring. I’m throwing on gold lace-up sandals. I’ve been wearing these like crazy recently. They elongate the legs big time making them incredibly flattering (plus they are comofrtable too!). These giant statement earrings are so fab! They add so much to your outfit and are super lightweight.

Dressed Up

Babydoll dresses are my absolute jam! I am a sucker for anything shapeless as this style works for any occasion. Plus, they are super lightweight making them perfect for those heatwave temperatures we’ve been having recently! This dress has got the cutest floral print to it.

Paired with those same white heels from earlier and a cute pair of puffball earrings this look is the perfect mix of frilly and sassy! If you wanted to keep things casual for running errands or lunch with friends, slip on white sandals instead.

Although lilac is definitely out of my comfort zone, I’ve been loving it this summer and am so glad I finally gave the hue another chance!
